About Consensus

Search engine that answers research questions from peer-reviewed papers and links each statement to the study it came from.

Consensus is a search engine that takes a question in plain language, such as whether a treatment affects an outcome, and answers it from published research papers. Results list the relevant studies, and summaries link each statement back to the paper that supports it.

Graduate students use it to get a quick sense of what the literature says before a deeper search, and to find a few strong starting papers for a topic outside their own field. Filters for study type, sample size and publication year help narrow results to the kind of evidence you need.

A summary of studies is not a review. It can miss papers outside its index, mix study designs of different quality, or reflect how questions were phrased. Open the cited studies, check their methods and populations, and use it alongside a structured database search for anything you will publish.
