About ResearchBest

Every term brings another AI tool that promises to search, read or write for researchers. Their websites rarely say plainly which stage of the work they help with, what happens to uploaded papers and data, or how to check what they produce. That makes it hard for a graduate student or a busy academic to pick a small set of tools that fit together.

ResearchBest is a plain directory of those tools, sorted by the job they do. The name is a brand. We do not rank tools, publish scores or call any tool the top choice, and the order on a page means nothing about quality. Each tool gets a short description we wrote ourselves and a link to its official site, so you can compare them and decide.

We also keep integrity in view. AI tools can invent citations and blur the line between editing and writing, and universities treat that differently. Check every citation you use, follow your institution's AI policy, and ask your supervisor or your library when the rules are unclear.

A tool is listed once we have confirmed that its official site is live and that it does the job its description says. We write every description in our own words and keep it short. We do not copy marketing text, publish scores or put tools in order of merit.

Research tools often handle unpublished work, interview transcripts and participant data. Before you upload any of that, read the tool's data terms, check whether your institution holds a license with its own data agreement, and follow your ethics approval and your university's AI policy.
